TRAVEL TIPS

Travel to Bali
We have chosen Bali as it is a convenient meeting point for friends and family, with airfares often more affordable than flights to Darwin. Flight sales are frequent, so we recommend monitoring fares or setting price alerts through Google Flights.

Nearby Accommodation
To assist with planning, we have compiled a shortlist of hotels near the venue, covering a range of styles and budgets.
The venue is situated 10 minutes from
Nusa Dua, 60 minutes from Seminyak.
We suggest booking early to ensure the best selection.

Travel Insurance
Accidents happen, so we want everyone to be looked after if they do.
We strongly encourage all guests to arrange comprehensive travel insurance.
We recommend Tick Travel Insurance for reliable coverage at a competitive price.

Indonesian Entry Requirements
Australian passport holders require a
B1 Tourist Visa to enter Indonesia.
This can be arranged in advance via evisa.imigrasi.go.id or on arrival at the Visa on Arrival desk. An electronic customs declaration must also be completed before entry: ecd.beacukai.go.id

Currency
The local currency is Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) - around 10,000 IDR equals $1 AUD. Cash isn’t essential anymore, as most places accept cards and Apple Pay, and ATMs are easy to find. It’s handy to have a small amount of IDR for tips or small purchases - you can even withdraw some at the airport on arrival.

Transport
Apps are the easiest way to get around. Bluebird Taksi, Grab and GoJek all work well and link to your credit card, so no haggling or cash needed. Grab and GoJek can even be booked from the airport - look for the pickup lounge at the international terminal.

Culture
Bali is a gay-friendly tourist destination; however, same-sex unions are not legally recognised in Indonesia, though they can still be celebrated. We encourage guests to be mindful of local customs and to exercise discretion where appropriate to ensure a comfortable and respectful experience for everyone.

Water
Tap water is not safe to drink in Bali. Bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, and rinsing toothbrushes.
